  • Introduce and practice gerunds as subjects, p. 242-243; ref. “LOOK” box to differentiate between gerunds and verbs in present progressive form
  • Introduce and practice using gerunds as objects of prepositions, p. 244-245; reinforce with “Time to Talk” on p. 243 and/or 245
  • Distribute and go over supplementary sheets
  • Ref. gerund spelling rules on p. 295 and gerund usage table on p. 299

  • Distribute grammar explanation sheets for making affirmative and negative statements
  • Work through related exercises on pp. 186 – 189
  • At some point during this or next lesson, introduce role play activity (make copies) that lends itself to these structures
